#GotasUNICEF race on the occasion of World Water Day

Novaschool Sunland International celebrates World Water Day and joins the #gotasUNICEF charity race organized by Novaschool Education Group in hand with UNICEF.

Last Friday, March 24, we celebrated the solidarity race #gotasUNICEF on the occasion of World Water Day (March 22). Once again, the Novaschool Education Group, part of the UNICEF’s Child Friendly Schools network, has organized the #gotasUNICEF charity race in its five private schools, among which is our centre. This year, the funds raised went to people affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey.

From the sports department of our school, the teachers of Physical Education prepared with care and dedication a race adapted to the different educational stages. In our school all our students participated, from Infantile to Bachillerato, as well as the teachers of those academic years, and even the management of the educational center.

Clean water and sanitation are the sixth Sustainable Development Goal, established by the UN, for the 2030 Agenda. The organization of this race, for the second consecutive year, has been a learning experience in which the fundamental objective is to remember the importance of water for the survival of all species and for the development of social and economic activities, and to raise awareness of how fortunate we are to have drinking water at our disposal on a daily basis. One in three people does not have access to safe drinking water“.

In addition to raising funds for this cause, we spent a very nice school day, in which the coexistence between students of different stages and sport were the highlight.

From here we want to thank the educational community of our school Novaschool Sunland International for the support in all the solidarity initiatives we carry out from the Educational Group. On this occasion, thanks to your solidarity and participation, from our school we have collected €1,773.80.
