Year 8 students are using the Fiction Express platform to enjoy reading in a very special way: read books live, that is, they vote on how they want the story to continue. In addition, they can write in the forum and interact with the authors.
Emma Ropero, from Year 8D, has won an award for her good expression in the forum: an online meeting with one of the authors and other winners on a video call, Sofia Rhei. Yesterday she had the opportunity to connect through Teams to a meeting with all of them along with her classmates; it has been a very enriching and fun experience at the same time.
Our educational model promotes literature not only as a subject but insists in analysing, reviewing and discussing it. Besides, reading is one of the most effective ways to expand one’s vocabulary.
By including literature in education we giveout students a chance to explore the world and develop their critical thinking skills. It expands minds and horizons while building instinct, boosting curiosity and sharpen intuition to start thinking outside the box.
Learning is a vital process and literature is an amazing tool for self-development, education and enjoyment; that is why itis widely present in our British Curriculum and takes a central role in it.
Congratulations Emma!
