Float or sink

Cártama, 10 de febrero de 2014. Preschool está investigando por qué los barcos flotan mediante una serie de experimentos.

Hemos probado con diferentes objetos (palos, piedras, cartones de zumo llenos y vacíos, etc.). Ha sido divertido comprobar que los pimientos flotan mientras que las zanahorias se hunden, así que los hemos cortado longitudinalmente descubriendo que los pimientos están huecos mientras que las zanahorias son sólidas.

Este es un modo bastante simple de introducir el concepto de densidad a nuestros pequeños científicos.

 We tested a few objects (sticks, stones, empty and full juice cartons, etc.)

It was fun finding out that peppers float while carrots sink, so we cut them lengthways to discover that peppers are hollow while carrots are solid.

 This is a very simple way of introducing the concept of density to our young scientists.
