Cártama, 16 de octubre de 2013. Conmemorando el día de la Hispanidad, los alumnos de year 9 han realizado un proyecto de investigación sobre el descubrimiento de América. El descubrimiento de las Américas en 1492 fue un hito para la Historia de la Humanidad, siendo el final de la Edad Media y comienzo de la Edad Moderna, y un ‘lazo entre ambos continentes’.
Cristóbal Colón pensando que había llegado a la India, cambiando su ruta marítima, encontró el Nuevo Mundo. Hoy, los alumnos han recordado cómo fue el viaje, las carabelas en las que viajaron, la vida del comerciante Colón, los nuevos territorios conquistados y las múltiples leyendas que giran en torno a esto.
Esta festividad, celebra la cultura relacionada con España de la que forman parte más de 30 naciones, en África, América, Asia, Europa y Oceanía.

The discovery of the Americas in 1492 was a milestone in the history of mankind, with the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the modern age, and a “link between the two continents’. Christopher Columbus thought he had reached India, changing its sea route, and had found the New World. Today, students evoked the trip, the ships in which they traveled, the life of Columbus the merchant, the new conquered land and the many legends that revolve around this. This festival celebrates Spain-related culture as part of the more than 30 countries in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
