Quisiera aprovechar esta ocasión para daros de nuevo la bienvenida y agradeceros la confianza depositada en Novaschool Sunland Intenational. Espero que hayáis disfrutado del verano y que a lo largo de este nuevo curso sigamos siendo partícipes de esta fantástica experiencia que es la educación de sus hijos e hijas en Novaschool Sunland International.
Me complace comunicarles que hemos alcanzado la fusión completa de Sunland con Novaschool y que, gracias a la labor de nuestro equipo, seguimos creciendo académica y tecnológicamente para ser el referente nacional en enseñanza británica de excelencia, siendo estos unos momentos difíciles de recesión económica, a nivel internacional. Cabe destacar también que si el anterior año comenzamos con 230 alumnos, este curso escolar lo haremos con 270, lo cual representa un crecimiento del 17 %. Aunque la mayor parte de dicho crecimiento ha sido en primaria, secundaria ha tenido también un aumento importante.
Nos llena de orgullo poder compartir los espectaculares resultados de los exámenes de Cambridge International Exams IGCSE y AS/A level de nuestros alumnos correspondientes a la convocatoria de Mayo/Junio 2012. El porcentaje de aprobados en IGCSE (C – A*) ha sido del 90% con un asombroso 23% de resultados entre A y A*. En los exámenes de A level el porcentaje de aprobados ha sido el 86% con un 16% de los resultados entre A y A*. Tanto los resultados de IGCSE como los A Level se pueden calificar como espectaculares, siendo muy por encima del promedio (75%) comparando con colegios privados en el Reino Unido.
Al hilo de esto, quiero destacar que una de nuestras alumnas ha conseguido la máxima puntuación posible en los exámenes de la Universidad de Cambridge, cuatro A* y que ha ingresado en dicha Universidad (Cambridge) para estudiar Ciencias Naturales, el sitio más prestigio de todo el mundo para estudiar dicha asignatura. Otros de sus compañeros de Bachillerato, se han matriculado en Universidades de Barcelona, Madrid y Reino Unido (Brunel) y uno de nuestros alumnos, ha obtenido una beca para estudiar en una Universidad estadounidense. Asimismo, la media obtenida por nuestros alumnos en las notas de bachillerato (equivalente a la selectividad española) ha sido de 9.5. ¡Impresionante!
La reputación de Novaschool Sunland International sigue creciendo y consolidándose como uno de los centros británicos de referencia en España. Para continuar avanzando en la motivación y desarrollo, tanto de nuestros alumnos como del modelo educativo a nivel Internacional.
Aprovecho la ocasión para informarles que alumnos de Novaschool Añoreta pasarán un día cada 2 semanas en el centro para convivir con alumnos de Novaschool Sunland, con el fin de avanzar en su inglés en el entorno británico que tenemos con nuestro ilustre profesorado. El enfoque del proyecto será el empleo del inglés a través de otra asignatura, tal como lo hacemos con los alumnos nativos de Novaschool Sunland. Es más, eso va a aumentar los números totales de alumnos a los 320, lo cual va a generar un ambiente de colegio algo más grande, permitiendo crear una sociedad estudiantil de la que ambos centros serán partícipes y mejorando tanto en actividades educativas, como deportivas y extracurriculares. Por supuestos habrá un apoyo de profesores que vendrán desde Novaschool Añoreta que reforzará la plantilla actual de profesores en Sunland.
Continuando con las actividades extraescolares, este año vamos a tener una oferta muy amplia en el colegio, ya que Novaschool va a desplegar sus enormes recursos en este sentido y con el aumento general de alumnos en el centro, podremos centrarnos más en el deporte de grupo y de competición, donde hace falta un elevado número de participantes para su desarrollo. También habrá un abanico importante de deportes individuales para los alumnos que prefieran estas actividades.
Como es lógico, seguimos apostando por las nuevas tecnologías con la implantación de la versión mejorada de MyAgora+. También hemos instalados 3 nuevas pantallas interactivas para equipar 3 aulas más, debido al crecimiento del centro.

I am pleased to announce that we have reached a full merger with Novaschool Sunland and thanks to the work of our team, despite times of economic recession we continue to grow academically and technologically in accordance with theBritish national benchmark of excellence in teaching.
Please bear in mind that last year we started the academic year with 230 students,however this school year we have 270 students, representing an increase of 17%. Whilst most of this growth has been in the primary school, the secondary school has also seen a significant increase.
We are delighted to share the spectacular results of our Cambridge IGCSE and AS / A level students who sat their examinations in May / June 2012. The pass rate in IGCSE (A*- C) has been an amazing 90% with an outstanding 23 % achieving an A – A*. At A level the pass rate was 86% with 16% of the results between A and A *. The average obtained by our students in the bachillerato (equivalent to Spanish selectivity) was 9.5, all of which are remarkable results. Both theIGCSE and A level results can be classed as outstanding, as they are well above the average (75%) compared with private schools in the United Kingdom. (UK National A*-C pass rate is 63%)
In addition to this, I want to congratulate one of our students who has achieved the highest A level scores possible; four A * passes. Consequently she has been offered a place at the University of Cambridge to study Natural Sciences, the most prestigious university in the world for this subject.
We also have students who have gained places at the universities of Barcelona,Madrid and the UK (Brunel). Furthermore, one of our students has won a scholarship to study at an American university.
TheSunland International Novaschool reputation keeps growing and is becoming one of the British centres of reference in Spain. We will continue to progress in the motivation and development of both our students and the educational model at international level.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that Añoreta students will spend a day every two weeks at the school to study with students of Novaschool Sunland and improve their level of English. The focus of the project will be the use of English through other subjects. Moreover, it will increase the total number of students to 320, allowing students from both centres to share in educational activities, such as sports and extracurricular activities, and create a livelier atmosphere.
Regarding extracurricular activities, this year we will offer a wider variety becauseNovaschool will deploy its vast resources in this direction and with the general increase in students in the centre, we can focus more on competitive sporting activities, which need a large number of participants for their development. There will also be an important range of individual sports for students whoprefer these activities.
Obviously,we are investing in new technologies with the introduction of the enhanced version of MyAgora +. We have also installed three new interactive screens to equip three more classrooms, due to the growth of the centre.
