British Curriculum

Novaschool Sunland International establishes its teaching model through the British curriculum, also complying with the requirements set by the Spanish ministry in all its stages.

In addition, it has an adapted programmme in the courses equivalent to Spanish Secondary and Baccalaureate that allows our students to obtaining the IGCSEs and A levels, through the Cambridge certifier, and being able to homologate their studies in Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, thus opening their possibilities of access to any Spanish or world university.

Foundation (3 and 4 years old)

Our British school in Malaga begins in the Foundation stage from 3 years in Preschool and ends at 4 years in Reception, which is equivalent to 2nd Cycle of Infant. For the 1st Cycle of Infants, we have the Infant School Novaschool Baby Sunland that integrates the British model from 0 years and that is located about 15 minutes from the school, in Malaga TechPark (Old Technology Park of Malaga), near Campanillas, Cártama and Teatinos.

In the Foundation Stage, our students lay the foundations for their learning in English at an academic level, but focusing on the human and emotional aspects of their growth.

Key Stage 2 (5 to 10 years old)

Once the Foundation stage, which is equivalent to Infant, has been passed, our students begin the Key Stage 2 stage, which covers the courses from Year 1 to Year 6 (5 to 10 years) and which would be equivalent to Primary in the Spanish system.

At this stage, both students and teachers are involved in a reciprocal teaching-learning process, enhancing motivation and curiosity about the world around them and their own inner world, developing awareness and critical thinking, working on empathy, emotions and sociability, in addition to knowledge.

Key Stage 3 and 4 (11-16 years old) IGCSE

The equivalent of Secondary in Spanish model, at Novaschool Sunland International it is taught from Year 7 to Year 11 (from 11 to 16 years old) and includes the stages of Key Stage 3 (from Year 7 to Year 9) and the stage of KS4, IGCSEs (from Year 10 to Year 11). These stages follow the British International Curriculum incorporating the requirements of the Spanish Ministry of Education.

At the end of each stage, students are evaluated in the different subjects chosen, in addition to obtaining their corresponding Cambridge certifications

KS5 AS/A Levels (17-18 years old) Preuniversity

Our Sixth Form students (17-18 years old) at Novaschool Sunland International follow the Cambridge International Examinations curriculum thus obtaining AS / A Levels certification.

In this pre-university stage, our Year 12 students decide whether they want to enter a Spanish or foreign university, thus adapting their study plan in Year 12 and Year 13 in relation to this decision and their future professional interests. In this way, we provide our students with a wide and varied offer that allows them to develop in the professional and geographical location they want.
