Environmental education project in collaboration with Aula del Mar Malaga

At Novaschool Sunland International we are aware of the importance of generating an environmental culture to form future citizens aware of the importance of caring for our planet.

As for environmental education, despite not being incorporated as a subject in the educational plans, we have implemented different projects in a transversal way at all levels of education.

Among the several projects that we are carrying out this year, such as the Novaschool Agro-sustainable Farm and the laboratories in the wastewater treatment plant, we also have another of marine environmental education in collaboration with Aula del Mar Málaga.

Aula del Mar is an entity committed to education and participation in the conservation of natural resources and in the improvement of environmental quality and life, through sustainability and solidarity. Its activities cover aspects such as environmental education for schools, awareness campaigns and environmental training.

Last week our Year 8 and Year 9 students had the opportunity to participate in an excursion to La Cala del Moral accompanied together with their Geography teachers and a member of Aula del Mar. Throughout the morning they have deepened some topics looking at how many species of shells there are on our coast, if the beach is natural or artificial, the flora in danger of extinction etc. In addition, they have finally cleaned the beach of plastic and other garbage.

Here are some photos of the excursion.
