Y 1 & Y2 students enjoy their first day at the Novaschool Agrosustainable School Farm

Students of Year 1 and Year 2 of Novaschool Sunland International, a British school in Malaga, enjoy their first day at the Novaschool Agrosustainable School Farm.

This school year we start a new project at the Novaschool Agrosustainable School Farm, located in the Vega de Riarán (Cártama), expanding our curriculum towards sustainability. Throughout the school year, our students will carry out three days in these facilities, developing different activities that promote contact with nature, affection and respect for animals, plants and all living beings.

First day at the Novaschool Agrosustainable Farm – Year 1 & Year 2

On the 3rd and 4th of October our Year 1 and Year 2 students respectively enjoyed their day at the Novaschool Agrosustainable Farm. The day began at school as a starting point to get to the Farm by school transport. Upon arrival, our students walked a few minutes along a nature trail, enjoying animals and plants they encountered on their way.

Once there, they have been divided into smaller groups to carry out the different activities. The first one has been to know the animals that live in the farm. With great care, the little ones have been able to caress them and even feed them. In addition to learning their names, our students learned many characteristics about them, such as their habitat or food and other curiosities.

After interacting with animals, it is time to pause to eat and enjoy free time. La Granja has many outdoor areas where you can have a real picnic. Once the meal is over, our students enjoyed games in the wooded areas among lemon, orange and other super impressive and very large fruit trees.

During the afternoon session our Year 1 and Year 2 students have carried out a research workshop, a challenge, since the field is full of insects, rocks and vegetation. At end the day at the Novaschool Agrosustainable School Farm, our students have prepared a passport with all the animals, plants and insects they found along the day, all perfectly labelled in English.

From Novaschool Sunland International we are very enthusiastic about this project. As you know, these visits are an intrinsic part of the Novaschool curriculum, and the Novaschool Agrosustainable School Farm has enriched our curriculum in terms of sustainability and environmental care.
