Today the Head of Cambridge Iberia, Mr. Mazur came to Novaschool Sunland to meet the Principal Ms. Evans. After a tour of the school Mr. Mazur and Ms. Evans were joined by Miss Victoria our Sixth Form and Spanish Department Coordinator and Mr. Ridley our examinations officer, to discuss new developments within Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
One area particularly interesting was that CIE are continuing to work with Spanish Universities (UNED) and fully recognise the A LEVEL subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, business studies and geography as equivalent to the Spanish ‘específicas’, in fact it was noted that in some subjects the content was more than the Spanish equivalent . CIE have also decided to follow the recent changes in the British grading system and are offering Cambridge schools the option of continuing with A* – G grades or adopt the new British numeric system 9-1, something we will look at in the future.
Before the meeting ended Mr. Mazur congratulated Novaschool Sunland on our growth, the number of students we enter for Cambridge examinations has increased significantly in recent year and continues to grow.
